Madame Tussauds

Anyone who has visited England and in particular London, will most likely be familiar with the term Madame Tussauds. It is the famous wax museum which could originally only be found in London, but now has branches all over the world.

For a while now Berlin also has a wax museum with the famous name Madame Tussauds. It is located near the Brandenburg gate in the street ‘Unter den Linden’. Admission is not cheap with prices ranging between 15 and 19 Euros however; the visitor is offered a lot in return.

Besides well known politicians from all around the world and all sorts of historical figures, one can also find wax models of world famous athletes, singers, actors and other stars. Even celebrities that are not yet known beyond the borders of Germany, and hence not found in other Madame Tussauds exhibitions, are presented here. A visit is worth while even if you have already visited the wax museum in other countries.

Additionally, each year new figures are added to the museum so visitors who have previously been guests in the Berlin wax museum, will always have something new to discover. However, famous celebrities are not just presented rather are complimented with interactive elements. For instance you can quickly and easily measure your IQ on the side of Albert Einstein’s wax figure. Or haven’t you ever wanted to stand alongside our Chancellor and give a speech to the nation? Even this is possible here!

In addition all visitors are offered to look behind the scenes and observe how exactly a wax model develops. One can even experience how the wax figure will be designed and look at images and film material in which celebrities are measured to ensure that their wax figure accurately reflects their dimensions; a really interesting excursion.
